Live in Light

Shrouds of darkness, every breath shorter than the last, I struggle even more, I can't take it anymore. I rip the mask from my face. Fresh air, but I'm surrounded by many faces I hardly recall, friends? Sure, let's give them that label. All I see are shadows, shadows that want to enter the depths of my mind to manipulate my darkness. Turn it into their weapon. To keep me beneath the midnight waters, to drown the light that made me. The light that fuels all life. Something I took for granted all my life. I've lived in the darkness that gave birth to me for far too long. No longer, will that darkness that gave birth to me only lead me astray. It has merely led me to love of my life...my light! No longer will I allow the shadows of my darkness to put me in chains and hold me captive in their dungeons. I am the key, I am my champion, I am my light.

I ran away from that light because living in darkness was simple, easy. And it was. I could touch the stars in my night. I could dive into the black waters and touch the earths womb.
